Species Description:  Nepenthes hamata is one of the most iconic Nepenthes species, notable for the pronounced teeth on its pitchers. This species is endemic to the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, where it has been found in a variety of montane forests ranging from 1400–2500m above sea level. Nepenthes hamata's habitat is notable for higher humidity levels and shady conditions relative to other highland species. The upper pitchers are significantly larger and more impressive than the lowers, but all hamata pitchers are striking.
